CVS Sunday: 5/9/11

CVS Pharmacy logoImage via Wikipedia
It was a wild ride this week! Thanks to Coupon Mom and her drugstore deals, and to Simply CVS. Please let me know if you spot any mistakes in coupon amounts or calculation errors. I'm pretty new at this, and my math skills are rusty.

Here's what I picked up (below). Most of the chocolate is in the freezer. And yes, I spent way too much OOP, but my husband loves his Excedrin so hopefully we'll see some savings in the coming months. ;-) Also, there should be two more peanut butter M&M's in the picture, but they seem to have disappeared. I have NO IDEA what happened to them. *gulp*

I'm having a bit of trouble deciding upon a standard method for calculation of savings. My natural inclination is to consider both ECB's surrendered and ECB's earned. However, it seems like lots of folks don't take ECB's surrendered into account when calculating their savings percentages. I want to be sure to use the most standard and accepted method of calculation among those of us who do this, so I'll watch and learn for a while before settling on a standard method to use going forward.

All You Magazine 2-Year Subscription for $25, with $9 to help tornado victims!

Help Southern Savers help you and the Alabama tornado victims at The West Alabama Food Bank with your $25 purchase of a two year subscription to All You Magazine by clicking HERE. With your order, a whopping NINE dollars will go to feed the hungry! I'm literally kicking myself, having just spent $35 at Amazon last week for a two-year subscription to All You Magazine, with no proceeds going to The West Alabama Food Bank.

I'm sure most of you have heard of All You Magazine by now. Every issue includes around $50-$100 in coupons. I've seen "AY" referred to in a steadily increasing number of weekly coupon matchups, including those done by the ever-popular Southern Savers and Coupon Mom.

Here's how to do it!

1. Visit Southern Savers at Fundraising Online by clicking HERE.

2. Click "Support Us".
3. Type "All You" into the white search field and click on "SEARCH".

4. Click on "ALL YOU"
5. It should default to "30 for $25.00" and "New Subscription". In any case, click what is appropriate for you and then "ADD TO CART". Follow through to confirm your purchase.

Enjoy your All You Magazines, the fantastic coupons within, and bask in the glow of contentment in knowing you did a good thing!

$1.00 Off Next Sunday's Paper Coupon (5/8/11): The Dallas Morning News

I was happily surprised to stumble upon coupon for $1.00 of Next Sunday's Paper coupon for The Dallas Morning News in the Sports section of today's (5/01/11) Sunday Dallas Morning News.

Please note that coupons are redeemable at participating locations only, wherever they may be. Also, one coupon per transaction is clearly specified, so keep that in mind when making your purchase(s).

CVS Sunday: 5/01/11

I love CVS! Here's how my shopping went today...

Firstly, I admit to being a tad bummed that my CVS store was out of the Bic Soleil Shimmers ($6.99 - 3 ECB's - $3.00 coupon = $0.99), and Ivory soap 3-packs ($0.99 - $1.00 coupon = FREE, and I have 7 coupons!). The helpful fellow who rang me up thanked me for being so organized, and asked if I might check back on Wednesday to see if the items had been re-stocked, and if not they could issue a rain check at that point. In the spirit of promoting good couponer-merchant relations I cheerfully agreed, although it wasn't the best "business" decision. Always a good thing to have a rain check on hand, even if the item turns up "in stock" during the sale period, as CVS rain checks never expire. But I digress...

The 25% off your entire transaction coupon didn't amount to more than a buck and a quarter since it apparently only applied to non-sale items. Same with the 10% off your entire beauty purchase coupon. I didn't use the latter because they couldn't be used on the same transaction. Plus, it also applied only to non-sale items, and I almost never buy them.

Many thanks to Simply CVS and Coupon Mom for your great lists and matchups. Here's what I came up with this week. Best of luck to you, and happy CVSing!

CVS Scanner 25% off Discount Coupon + More!

DSC01078Image by Gangles87 via Flickr
I love CVS! Stopped by today to get a rain check on the $0.99 Dove Men+Care Deodorant, and scanned my card. Picked up a sweet 25% disco for this CVS Sunday. Not sure if it's based on scans, total purchases, or just given out by chance, but I suggest y'all give your cards a swipe soon if you haven't yet received this little nugget of happiness. Expires 5/02/11.

And to sweeten the deal, I looked to my right and found this Something Borrowed booklet just sitting there. On the back cover is a $2 coupon for any Almay cosmetic product. There are plenty more, if y'all want to head to the CVS on Coit and Park in Plano, TX, but I wouldn't suggest thinking about it for too long.

Also, you might want to check out the CVS: FREE $5 Gift Card for Every $25 Purchased post over at Raining Hot Coupons. I turned over every couch we had to come up with $100 to buy a gift card and earn my free $20. Hopefully it will last for quite some time. Shaved 20% right off the top of the next $100 in purchases.

Happy Friday, y'all. And HAPPY CVSing!

I'm new to this business, and quite rusty at math so please forgive any unintentional blunders. I could have saved more, but was tiring of my bluish skin and decided to spring for the Jergens moisturizers (that gradually develop a modest amount of color to help counteract one's ghastly pallor.)

Thanks to Simply CVS, Coupon Mom, and Raining Hot Coupons for the awesome week of 4/24/11 CVS coupon matchups! Good luck to all! Happy CVSing!

If you act fast, you can find Alli 60 Count Starter Kit on sale for $12.50 (see yellow tag) in the clearance section of the CVS at Coit and Park in Plano, Texas.

I was just there this morning. I had a CVS coupon for $10 off an Alli starter kit in hand, but it was for a 120 count kit. Drat! Hopefully it will be on sale at other locations as well. Good luck!

CVS Freebie: Kids Aquafresh Toothpaste & Toothbrush

Thanks to The Krazy Koupon Lady for sharing this deal!

The 4/17/11 Red Plum has coupons for $1.00 off both Aquafresh Kids Toothpaste and Aquafresh Kids toothbrushes. I had two Red Plums in hand, so I was able to score two of each yesterday morning at the CVS on Coit and Park (Plano, TX) for FREE. As The Krazy Koupon Lady suggested, they might not be marked down, so I was sure to scan them to confirm that they were in fact on sale for 5 for $5. (Awesome tip for noobs like me, thanks!)

I found another Red Plum, and figured I'd head back the following day to pick up one more of each, but I got a wild hair up my butt on my way back from my first pedicure in about eight months, and decided to stop off at the CVS on W Parker (Plano, TX) near Alma. (Is it just me, or is it nearly impossible to pass a CVS without stopping?) Luckily, they had them there as well, so I scored two more.

I had a $1.50 off two Johnson and Johnson Red Cross printable coupon burning a hole in my binder (does not exclude travel sizes), and had not been able to find them at the CVS on Coit and Park, so I checked here and was happy to find them for sale for 99 cents apiece. After the $1.50 coupon, and the $1.00 off coupons for the toothpaste and toothbrush, my grand total was 48 cents.

* I initially found the $1.50 J&J Red Cross coupon via this post at The Krazy Koupon Lady, but can't find them there now. If anyone knows of a zip code that makes it appear, please feel free to share.
* Per this post at I Heart the Mart, there is a coupon for $1.00 off two J&J Red Cross mini first aid kits in the 3/13/11 Red Plum, but I don't have one so I can't confirm that.
* Good luck!
